Psalm 118:26 Blessed Be He That Cometh in the Name of the LORD

Psalm 118:26 (KJV) Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

The message of welcome to all coming to the house of the LORD. Coming with grateful acknowledgment that He is God and we are the sheep of His pasture.

When our Lord entered Jerusalem riding on an ass’s colt, He was the true and everlasting King of Israel. This was the scene – John 12:12-16 (KJV) On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt. These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

Likewise, recorded by Matthew in Matthew 21:9 (KJV) And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. Also, Matthew 23:39 (KJV) For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Although the supposedly people of God rejected their Christ – Matthew 23:37 (KJV) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

The Lord has His people who love and acknowledge Him. Let His people therefore rejoice, because the LORD is indeed King. Amen.
