Lord’s Day, Vol. 11 No. 31

Remembering Sister Lily Tan

Psalm 23:6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

In the early morning of 16 June 2023, sister Lily Tan went home to be with the Lord in her sleep. It was a Friday, on the third day of our Church Camp 2023. Thank God for her faith in the Lord despite bodily weaknesses as a result of old age. She looked forward to church camps and family retreats. As the Lord enabled, she joined us. She was 93.

Sister Lily Tan joined the church on 30 September 2018.

Testimony of LILY TAN

I am glad that I have an opportunity to attend the Blessed Hope BP Church Camp at Amara Sanctuary Resort Hotel as I was worried about my dizzy spell attack as I was diagnosed with multiple strokes years ago… I still need to go for medical check-ups often. Thankfully I am able to walk, cook and do some gardening.

I thank God for being so good to me for He loves and cares for me and I always love this song “Jesus love me this I Know… I  sang to my children too when they were young. God is so good to me.

Psalm 103:2 KJV Bless the LORD, O my soul and forget not all his benefits.

Testimony of CHANG YEN CHING

My first visit to Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church was a happy and memorable one.

On further attendance at the church services, I was touched by the enthusiasm of the church members to serve God. I was sure that God had led me to worship in Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church.

May the Lord bless Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church and guide all of us to walk closely with Him, do good and help to expand His kingdom – Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Testimony of MARJORIE TOW LE MIN

After I retired this year in 2018 as a preschool teacher, I was undecided as to what I wanted to do next. The Lord was gracious to me when my school principal offered me a job as a freelance educator. This job means I can help in school only when I am needed. God surely knew my heart and guided me accordingly.

Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

When I attend BHBPC, Rev Lek told me about the June 2018 Bible camp, which I was very keen to attend. I manage to convince my mother to attend the church camp together with me. She was very happy to join me.

It also gave me an opportunity to teach the children in the camp. As God gave me the creativity of sculpturing balloons, I could engage the children in this interesting activity, in addition to teaching.

The following Bible verses will help me in all my decisions.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

May God’s blessings be upon BHBPC.

To God be the glory.
