Psalm 25:20 O Keep My Soul

Psalm 25:20 (KJV)  O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

The psalmist pleaded for the LORD to deliver him from his predicament. He understood that it is He whose strength he can reply, it is He whose wisdom is his sure guide, and it is He whose grace will see him through yet another impasse.

O keep my soul was his plea, not that his soul cannot be secured having put his trust in the LORD. It is safe for eternity. But his present predicament, is a real battle against the flesh, the world and the devil.

Alas, he pleaded, O keep my soul, it seemed he was drowning the waters had come up to overflow his heart. But faith in God shall prevail. The just shall live from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from earth to heaven, from grace to glory. Amen.
