Psalm 25:21 Integrity and Uprighteousness

Psalm 25:21 (KJV)  Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

With the LORD’s guidance, the psalmist sought to live with integrity or blamelessness, that is with a purity of heart and uprightness or straightness and not in crookedness. These spiritual qualities are quintessential to life before God. The psalmist’s prayer is that these qualities will protect him for His hope is in the LORD.

It is rightly observed in Proverbs 13:6 (KJV)  Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

Trusting the LORD, he understood that it is the LORD that judges all things – Psalm 7:8 (KJV)  The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

As such, he sought the LORD to help him live with integrity and uprighteousness. Amen.
