2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For Our Light Affliction Which Is But For A Moment

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (KJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The onslaught of sin in this world, Satan, and the flesh renders the believer burdened. Yet, the Apostle Paul enlightened the church to understand this is is but a light affliction and for a moment.

For the life in the Spirit worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Therefore, the believer is exhorted to have an eternal perspective to this life’s affliction.

There is a far more permanent reality that is eternal that our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ will give. Let His people therefore press on. Amen.
