Psalm 61:1-2 The Rock That Is Higher Than I

Psalm 61:1-2 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

When the psalmist’s heart was overwhelmed, he sought the LORD in prayer. He prayed, “Hear my cry, O God, attend unto my prayers.”

He couldn’t see beyond his present dire circumstances but knew that in the LORD there is solution and stability. He gave his petitions to the LORD.

He articulated his prayers, his concerns to the LORD and will continually do so – “From the end of the earth will I cary unto thee”. These is a Rock that is higher than him from which he found stable ground. Amen.
