2 Peter 1:4 Partakers of the Divine Nature

2 Peter 1:4 (KJV) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The Apostle Peter described the believer as being partakers of the divine nature. With the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the heart of the believer, he or she is able to escape from the corruption that comes with an inordinate liking for the world and the things of the world.

The promise of Christ’s intercession for believers at the right hand of the Father so that they can be kept by God’s mercy is a truth that brings comfort and consolation in their trials and temptations – Hebrews 2:18 (KJV) For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Also, in Hebrews 4:15-16 (KJV) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Amen.
