Psalm 94:22 The LORD Is the Rock of My Refuge

Psalm 94:22 (KJV) But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

The LORD protects the psalmist from harm and danger. When he is confronted with the attack of the evil one, he can run to the LORD for his defense, and find safety.

God is described as the Rock, a fitting of a fortress of security in the midst of danger and uncertainty. He uses the adversative “But” to clarify that he has been preserved and cared for by the Almighty power of God. In this, he gives thanks.

The LORD defends His own because He loves them and therefore never fails to care for them. How wonder is He! Amen.
