Acts 13:48 As Many As Were Ordained to Eternal Life Believed.

Acts 13:48 (KJV)  And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Preaching the gospel at Antioch in Pisidia, the Apostle Paul first went to the synagogue to share the good news with the Jews. When they rejected the message of the Lord, he turned to the Gentiles. God grant success!

Our text recorded the gospel given to the Gentiles who heard the truth and gladly received and glorified the word of the Lord. It was not rejected as was with the Jews but welcomed. Those ordained to eternal life, chosen before the foundation of the world, whose eyes the Lord opened, believed and were gloriously saved.

Well explained by the Apostle Paul in Romans 8:29-30 (KJV)  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Thank God that He saves, though God’s people may not know who are those ordained to eternal life, in preaching the gospel, He shall reveal His glory by saving them, giving them faith to believe in Christ’s Name. Amen.
