Romans 10:4 Christ is the End of the Law of Righteousness

Romans 10:4 (KJV) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Why is Christ described as the end of the law of righteousness? It is because in Christ, righteousness is given, fully established and fulfilled. Christ is One with the Father. And Christ coming in the flesh became one with man, in entering human history.

Righteousness is measured by the law of God, which is given by Christ to man, most emphatically at Mount Sinai to the people of Israel through Moses. Christ fulfilled the law Himself when He walked on earth. And He did so on our behalf both in His life and in His death to bear our transgressions of the law of God.

Hence, the Apostle Paul rightly said, “to every one that believeth” that Jesus is the Christ, who came lead man back to God. May this message be brought forth for His glory to the salvation of souls. Amen.
