Romans 4:16 To That Also Which is of the Faith of Abraham

Romans 4:16 (KJV)  Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

To be right with God comes not by any effort on man’s part. But by faith in Christ, who obeyed the law on man’s behalf, that man, through the righteousness of Christ, may be made righteous before God. The prime example is Abraham. He believed God, trusted in His salvation, according to His way, not his own way! That was how Abraham was justified.

Romans 4:13 (KJV)  For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

It was by the grace of God, who grants man to trust in the righteousness of Christ that man is justified before God. This is the precious faith of Abraham that was effectual in the sight of God. May it be ours too. Amen.
