1 Corinthians 1:30 In Christ Jesus

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

The Apostle Paul who wrote this letter preached the gospel in the city of Corinth in his second missionary journey. In the second missionary, Paul organised new local churches in Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, Corinth and Ephesus for the new believers. He returned to Antioch in Syria and stayed some time there (Acts 18:22).

From Athens, Paul departed to Corinth and came to know Aquila and Priscilla, who were also tentmakers. Paul worked to support himself at the same time preached the gospel every Sabbath persuading the Jews and the Greeks (Acts 18:4). Crispus the chief ruler of the synagogue believed and all his house and many of the Corinthians and were baptised (Acts 18:8).

The Lord Jesus appeared to Paul in a vision in Acts 18:9-10 “Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.” Paul stayed for 1 ½ years there teaching the word of God.

The wisdom of God is found in His Word which the Apostle Paul imbibed for himself and preached. Through faith in Jesus Christ, souls were saved as they turned from their sins, making right with God. He writes to exhorted as the grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, awaiting the redemption when Christ would return to save the body. Praise God for His complete work in our lives. Amen.
