John 6:37 All that the Father Giveth Me

John 6:37 (KJV)  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Our Lord Jesus speaks of the souls of men and women who would turn away from their sins and turn to Him for salvation. These are those who the Father has given to Him. He affirmed that none would be lost, none cast out.

He assured the multitude who heard Him when He said in John 6:35-36 (KJV)  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

There were those who believed not. They were not of His. They will not come to Him. Jesus later asked Peter and other disciples, “Will ye also go away?”

John 6:68-69 (KJV) Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Conviction and confession of Christ and willingness to take up the cross and follow Him is proof that we belong to Him. Amen.
