1 Corinthians 1:27-29 No Flesh Should Glory in His Presence

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 (KJV)  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

God’s ways are not man’s ways. God’s workings are different from the ways of the world. The worldly wise will be confounded. The mighty’s might would not avail. The Apostle Paul speaks of God using the unlikely foolish things of the world to accomplish His divine purposes.

The apostles of Christ were not men of status and position in the Jewish establishment. They were unlearned men whom the Holy Spirit fill and energize for the divine purpose of saving souls and establishing His church.

The Apostle Paul gave the reason why God chose the base and the despised for His work – that no flesh should glory in His presence. To God be the glory. Amen.
