2 Peter 3:13 Wherein Dwelleth Righteousness

2 Peter 3:13 (KJV)  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The Apostle Peter looked forward to God establishing new heavens and a new earth when the present heaven and earth is destroyed. He saw in reality that this present world is filled with unrighteousness and spiritual wickedness. And he was given a clear vision of a better future with the Lord.

He, therefore, saw his present life as a transit to that permanent and eternal and heavenly abode wherein dwelleth righteousness. He saw and he rejoiced.

Revelation 21:4 (KJV)  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

2 Peter 3:11-12 (KJV)  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in allholy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

May God’s people rejoice and live worthily, preparing well for that blessed kingdom to come.
