Psalm 119:162 I Rejoice At Thy Word

Psalm 119:162 (KJV)  I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. 

The word of God was the stabilizing factor in times of turmoil and unrest around him. The psalmist finds comfort and strength meditating upon the Scriptures. He compares his experience dwelling in God’s Word to a troop that has fought sturdy and hard in battle and gained victory over their aggressors. In the victory, there were the spoils that were spoken of.

The word of God imparts wisdom for every circumstance and situation in life. As the psalmist took time to consider what he could glean with much prayer, he was enlightened and joy filled his heart.

Proverbs 2:10 (KJV)  When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 

Proverbs 16:19 (KJV)  Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
