Isaiah 35:10 Everlasting Joy

Isaiah 35:10 (KJV)  And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

When Israel returned from their captivity in Babylon, they stood once again in their homeland. They were in servitude and now they are free. There were songs of joy and gladness in the hearts of the returnees.

They remember the days of their captivity, those days of sorrow and signing. They are a past that had fled away. They were glad that in their God, there is restoration. There is yet deliverance for God’s people with the strength of their LORD.

What rejoicing it was and what rejoicing it is for the people of God in every age. Having the LORD be our God, we can sing the songs of praise, deliverance and gladness. Joy that endures. This is the joy of the LORD, a joy that truly gladdens the heart for it is enduring. Amen.
