Psalm 1:2-3 Fruit In His Season

Psalm 1:2-3 (KJV)  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Fruit comes in his season. After careful cultivation, the blessing of the sun and the rain, the plant grows and finds its fruit in due time. With the fruition, comes the seed for multiplication. This is so for our spiritual life. The process of spiritual growth begins with a delight in God’s law. The time spent dwelling with God in His Word is well-spent for the soul to be nourished for an eventual season of fruiting.

The farmer patiently sows and fertilises the soil, weeding and watering. There is much work, much toil and much labour. Much prayer that the good Lord will be merciful to send the former and the latter rain. Likewise, the spiritual life is built up through the process of indoctrination, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, that is mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. He takes time in his devotion meditating upon the good Word and finding wisdom and understanding.

Indeed, his leave shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Here is described the spiritual fruit that has everlasting impact and blessing, for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

May the Lord bless our communion with Him each new day. Amen.
