Psalm 112:7 His Heart Is Fixed

Psalm 112:7 (KJV)  He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

Trusting in the LORD, the psalmist expresses confidence, that the LORD will take care of him, whatever may be the onslaught of the evil one. His heart is said to be fixed, immoveably anchored in the LORD. He may not know, but his LORD knows. He may not see, but his LORD sees.

To paraphrase it, the psamist articulated well in Psalm 121:7-8 (KJV)  The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Let us take hold of the truth concerning our LORD’s infinite ability, complete willingness, infinite love for our interest, for even our very hairs are numbered. Can we therefore understand the truth that we are precious in God’s sight! So precious that His Son died on our behalf so that we may be saved from eternal judgment in hellfire.

May our heart indeed be fixed and stayed upon our God. Amen.
