Psalm 107:19-21 His Word Healed Them

Psalm 107:19-21 (KJV)  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

How wonderful is the Word of God. It possesses healing power for the human soul. In distress, when a man calls upon the LORD, He responds to their cry for help. He sends His Word to minister to their needs.

Having tasted the healing power of God through His Word, surely men of every age praise the LORD for His goodness. His Word is undergirded by His Works! Our LORD actively brings us out of our trouble and saves us from our distress.

Naaman the Syrian general was a leper. His flesh withered away. When he came to the God of Israel, the prophet of God instructed him to go wash in the Jordan River seven times and be healed. Initially, he was angry with God’s prophet for suggesting this absurd cure until his Hebrew maid opened his understanding to obey. Naaman was healed. He extols the LORD and praises His goodness to save him.

Likewise, the lame man at the gate Beautiful in Jerusalem was healed when the LORD’s Apostle Peter beckoned him to arise and walk. He jumped and leaped for joy!

All praise and glory to His Name. Amen.
