Romans 8:3-5 Mind the Things of the Spirit

Romans 8:3-5 (KJV)  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

By the atoning death of Christ, sin is dealt with once and for all. All who believe and come to accept Christ atoning work find by their faith the righteousness of God. The man of God is led by the indwelling Holy Spirit that receives Christ by faith.

There is a new nature that God gives to the new man. He minds the things of the Spirit. The Spirit of God leads him. Walking in the flesh is contrary to the Spirit’s work. The new man has crucified the flesh and the affections thereby.

He has the strength by the Spirit of God to love and walk in the commandments and laws of God. It is a supernatural life, a divinely led life that is truly worth living. There is an eternal nature to such a life, God bless. Amen.
