Ephesians 6:18-19 Praying and Watching

Ephesians 6:18-19 (KJV)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Praying and watching is the posture of the Christian soldier equipped and armed for spiritual warfare. Prayer brings the Christian soldier in tune with his Captain’s will. When we pray in the Spirit, our prayer is in concord with God’s will. It brings us in sync with God’s purpose and plans for our life.

Watching enables the soldier to respond swiftly and surely to the advance of the adversary. He is not asleep nor is he distracted but is alert and agile, ready to sound the alarm and ready to go into battle.

Spiritual warfare is won on our knees. And the battle for the souls of men requires the intercessor to be pleading at the throne of grace for the supply of needful help for every predicament. The Apostle Paul requested prayer that the Lord may grant him the unction to preach the gospel, to declare the mystery of God’s salvation plan through Christ, the Son of God.

May the Lord accomplished His will for His glory. Amen.
