Psalm 111:10 The Beginning of Wisdom

Psalm 111:10 (KJV)  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. This blessed life begins with understanding the fear of the LORD and to accord Him the great reverence, and worship. To acknowledge that He is the Determinator of life, and we obediently and reverentially follow Him.

Such is the thrust of the psalm. The psalmist saw and acknowledge the LORD when he saw His works and embrace His Being.

John 1:12-13 (KJV)  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Such is the privilege of sonship to the God-fearer. For what less can we do but to love and serve Him – John 1:3-4 (KJV)  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

His praise endureth forever. Amen.
