Psalm 119:97 Meditating Upon God’s Law

Psalm 119:97 (KJV)  MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

For the psalmist, meditation upon God’s law is a daily and all-day spiritual exercise. The spiritual energy that does not seem to wane comes from meditation upon God’s truths. It provided spiritual vitality and sustains that spiritual fervour.

There is wholeheartedness in the psalmist’s devotion. It enables life’s duties.

One such is parental duties as highlighted in Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (KJV)  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

God’s Word imparts wisdom so that spirited life imparts spiritual truths – Proverbs 2:10 (KJV)  When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Meditation brings that wisdom into the heart and pleasantness to the soul. Amen.
