John 17:17-18 Sent Into the World

John 17:17-18 (KJV)  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

The Father sent His Son into the world to preach the gospel and heal the sick. The Father sets His Son apart to enter human history to take on human flesh to save sinful men.

Matthew 9:35-36 (KJV)  And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

The Son accomplished the work of redemption when He died on the cross to pay the debt of human sin. He rose from the dead on the third day victorious over sin and death.

He sent His disciples forth to preach the gospel and pray for the sick so that sinful man may be reconciled to God through His Name.

Acts 4:12 (KJV)  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest (Matthew 9:37-38). Amen.
