Revelation 22:16 Jesus is the God-Man

Revelation 22:16 (KJV)  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

The Person Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. The duality of His nature in one Person is affirmed here. As God, He is the Root or the Source or origination of David. It is He Who gives David his life and being. And yet as man, He is the offspring of David, one born of the house of David and lineage of David.

Jesus has David as His ancestor. He was the Messiah promised in the Scripture. David was Israel’s King.

Numbers 24:17 (KJV)  I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. 

Jesus is the bright and morning star, in the fullness of His glory or brightness, now fully manifested, ushering the morning of the eternal blessedness [Seiss]

Redemption and Restoration come only in Christ. Let us, therefore, look to Him. Amen.
