Isaiah 25:8-9 We Have Waited for Him

Isaiah 25:8-9 (KJV)  He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Patience is a spiritual virtue. It is borne out of faith and brings joy, gladness and rejoicing is the portion of God’s people.

Such joy that God imparts wipes away tears from all who waits upon Him. The greatest of spiritual virtues is to wait upon God in His Christ with the fullness of patience to be ushered from death into everlasting life.

The other side of death is the place of the eternal abode of God called heaven. There, death is swallowed up. There is the beggar Lazarus rejoicing in the bosom of Abraham.

We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation. Amen.
