1 Corinthians 7:22-24 A True Master

1 Corinthians 7:22-24 (KJV)  For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

The believer is the Lord’s freeman because he has been freed from the bondage of sin. He has the freedom to choose not to sin. And He is called Christ’s servant. Christ paid the highest price, by the sacrifice of Himself, to redeem him from that slavery to sin.

He is now Christ’s servant. Christ is his true Master. Christ is not an earthly master who abuses his servants and treat them as less than servants. But Christ’s servant is under His constant care and protection – Luke 12:7 (KJV)  But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Christ’s servant serves Christ his Lord. His allegience and obedience is only to Christ. Because Christ is the only living and true God. Abiding in Him is effervesing and everlasting life.

May our hearts be enlightened so that we will serve Christ as Lord of our life. Amen.
