2 Corinthians 3:3, Be a Living Testimony for Christ in the New Year

Be a Living Testimony for Christ in the New Year

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Believers are living testimonies of the power of the gospel to save and sanctify. Their written testimonies of God’s grace in their lives are but the outworking of the life of Christ in and through them. That life is living and real, not fake! And believers must count their blessings and record for God’s praise testimonies of His workings in their lives. That God is praised!

This was the testimony of the church in Corinth whom the Apostle Paul declares as a living testimony of the Spirit of the living God manifesting His presence in their lives. They may have family problems, challenges in the workplace, perhaps in the schools, there are trials of faith. Their lives are testimonies of the power of God’s Word put into practice. They understood the meaning of believing prayer, of finding strength for life in the mediation of God’s Word. Yielding to the Spirit and not to the flesh!

As we begin a New Year of grace 2019, may we endeavour to glorify our God as good testimonies of His workings in our lives. May the image of Christ be formed in us as we seek to testify and glorify our Christ. Amen.
