1 Corinthians 1:30-31, Let Him Glory In the Lord

1 Corinthians 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

The believer has much to give thanks. He has much to give praise to God for all that is freely bestowed by God in Christ Jesus. He is exhorted to give all worship to the Lord. What are the benefits in Christ Jesus? God’s peace!

Jesus says to His disciples in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. He encourages them to abide in Him to find renewed strength. The word “tribulation” means “to be pressed to a breaking point”. The believer is given the assurance that Jesus’ presence and power with be there to support and help them as they serve Him. Although the trials that will come may seem so overwhelming, but God’s grace through Christ, will give them the victory.

Two painters each painted a picture to illustrate his concept of rest. The first chose for his scene a still, lone lake among far-off mountains. The second threw on his canvas a thundering waterfall, with a fragile birch tree bending over the foam; at the fork of a branch, almost wet with the cataract’s spray, a robin sat on its nest. The first was only Stagnation; the last was Rest. For in rest there are two elements—tranquillity and energy; silence and turbulence; creation and destruction; fearfulness and fearlessness. In Christ Jesus, there is a restfulness that is placed in our soul that comes with the assurance, come what may, there will be victory for the believer who trust in Him Amen.
