Romans 8:38-39, Triumphant Faith

Romans 8:38-39 (KJV) 38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Apostle Paul testifies he is convinced that Christ’s love for him triumphs overall. There is nothing that stands in-between that relationship. Jesus was born into human history more than 2000 years ago, lived a perfect life, died on the cross as man’s substitute to reconcile man with the living and true God. Jesus rose from the dead the third day victorious over sin and death. Jesus gives to every man who would believe in Him eternal life. We, by faith, appropriated this salvation. It is the ultimate blessing of His love!

The psalmist testifies of God’s abiding presence with him bringing him comfort and assurance, Psalm 139:7-10 (KJV) 7  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

F.B. Meyer said well as he contemplates God’s love, “Never be afraid of God, unless you are sinning against Him. Always believe that behind what seems difficult and mysterious, there is God’s heart, as true and tender as the heart of the sweetest, gentlest woman that ever pressed her child to her bosom. Nay, all the love in all women’s hearts together, compared to the love of His heart, is as a glowworm’s torch compared to the sun at noon-tide.”

The Apostle Paul imparts this triumphant faith to believers’ in Rome that they are strengthened. May God strengthen you this day. We close with this benediction from Jude 1:24-25 (KJV) 24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25  To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
