Matthew 17:1-13 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

Matthew 16:21-28 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

Matthew 16:13-20 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Be good and obedient to their own husbands

Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus exhorted the women in his congregation to be a good and obedient wife to her own husband so that the word of God would not be blasphemed. The word “blasphemed” means “be reproached”.

The testimony of God’s people would either glorify or blaspheme the word of God. Being godly and possessing Christ-like character speak volumes of our faith in the Lord. It testifies of a higher wisdom and prudence of living that is consistent to the will of God as revealed in His Word.
