Trusting in God’s Mercy (Psalm 13)
In Psalm 13, the psalmist felt that he had been forgotten by His God.
Psalm 13:1-2 “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?”
The fears and doubts in the psalmist’s heart were articulated in his prayer in the opening verses to his LORD.
Dare to Be a Daniel
Daniel 1:8a “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…”
God’s people living in today’s troublous times are encouraged to “Dare to Be Like Daniel”. The book of Daniel tells us that in spite of what depraved leaders of this world system are doing, God is still the sovereign ruler of this universe. He is in total control of everything that is happening.
A Wonderful Saviour
– A Light out of Darkness
Fanny Crosby (1820-1915), America’s most prolific hymn writer, authored more than six thousand hymns, blessing millions worldwide. Embarrassed by the volume of credits to her name, she used over two hundred pseudonyms. Fanny Crosby did her composing in a dark room – total darkness – for she was blinded in infancy by a doctor’s mistake. Her father died when she was a year old, requiring her mother to hire herself out to a wealthy family. When her grandmother heard that the little child was incurably blind, she said, “Then I will be her eyes.” She took long walks with Fanny and graphically described the sunsets, clouds, trees, flowers, birds, and beauties of nature. Her grandmother’s word pictures were so vivid that Fanny even had a favourite flower – the violet.

Thank God for gathering His people last Lord’s Day in thanksgiving on the occasion of Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church 2nd Anniversary.
Thank God for bringing Rev Dr Tow Siang Hwa, our Pastoral Advisor, to rejoice with us. Dr Tow led us in pastoral prayer.
Two years is a milestone in the life of an infant church. Thank God for keeping us and sustaining the work. The Lord enables us to hold prayer meetings and worship services week after week. Great is His Faithfulness. It is our prayer that the Lord will continue this good work for His glory till He comes.
On 28 January 2014, Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church (BHBPC) came into existence when registration approval was received from the Registrar of Societies of Singapore.
A small group first gathered to pray on 15 August 2013 at the Praise Chapel of the Salvation Army Building.
It was on 24 September 2013 that the application for registration of BHBPC was submitted. 127 days later, the Lord answered our prayer. We saw the good hand of God leading us.
The Elements of Worship – Psalm 96
The worship of our Creator is the highest point of Man’s existence. God has not left us without a guide as to how we are to approach Him. Truly, we are to worship Him in the “Beauty of Holiness” (v10). There is a reverential awe and fearful disposition associated with our worship when the attribute of God’s holiness is emphasised.

Hell is a place of unquenchable fire. (Matt. 3:12, 42; Mk. 9:43)
Hell is a place of memory and remorse. (Lu. 16:19-31)

– A Song Carved in the Darkness
William Walford was an obscure lay preacher who owned a small novelty shop in the village of Coleshill, England. Although he had seen many “seasons of distress and grief,” his optimism and bright spirit always uplifted those who visited his shop.
(1) Homegoing of Mdm. Ivy Ng Teck Cheng
Mdm. Ivy Ng Teck Cheng (Mrs. Jamieson) went home to be with the Lord on 31 December 2015 at the age of 77. Her life has touched many hearts. The Silver Hall at the Singapore Casket where the vigil service was held was packed to the brim. On 2 January 2016, her body was laid to rest at the Choa Chu Kang Christian cemetery in Christian burial.
