A New Church Publication – The Creation
In December 2023, the Holy Bible in the King James Version without chapters and verses [ISBN: 978-981-18-8852-6] was printed through the publication ministry of the church. It was distributed during the first Old Paths Conference in December 2023. In January 2024 – April 2025, the church embarked on the reading of the Bible according to our published weekly reading schedule with the sermon that week giving an outline and summary of the books covered.
In 2025, the church embarked on the study of the Westminster Shorter Catechism and Larger Catechism with weekly recorded readings and initial short exhortations by Pastor Lek.
On 24 March 2024, the Amazing Grace Devotional Series on The Gospel of Luke Volume 1 (Luke 1-8) by J.C. Ryle was printed with 50 Devotions that includes hymns from the Revival Hymns and Choruses (RHC) and the Westminster Larger Catechism Questions 1-50 with proof texts. This was to facilitate and encourage Family Worship for the individual families of the church. In June 2025, the Gospel of Luke Volune II (Luke 9-16) with hymns from the RHC and the Westminster Larger Catechism Questions 51-106 with proof texts was printed with 49 Devotions. It was distributed during Family Bible Camp 2025. And in June 2026, the Gospel of Luke Volume III (Luke 17-24) with hymns from the RHC and the Westminster Larger Catechism Questions 107-196 with proof texts in 45 Devotions.
In December 2024 and December 2025, the Westminster Annotations Volume 1 (Genesis – Esther) [ISBN:978-981-94-1683-7] and the Westminster Annotations Volume II (Job – Malachi) [ISBN: 978-981-94-4912-5] were printed and distributed during the Old Paths Conferences in 2024 and 2025. God willing, the Westminster Annotations for the New Testament will be completed for distribution in December 2026 during the Old Paths Conference. The Annotations provides explanations and cross-references on the verses of the Bible based on the King James Version. It is a companion to the Bible with aids for understanding the text.
To further delve into the study of the Bible, the Matthew Henry Commentary first published in 1708-1710 has been the most trusted commentary written in the Puritan era with exposition and application in a devotional manner of the Bible text in the past 300 years. Its publication in 6 volumes covering 7074 page with the words forbiddingly small for proper reading and deep study.
To facilitate personal and family Bible study, the publication ministry of church has published the Matthew Henry Commentary in large print with the first volume entitled “The Creation” with the exposition of the Book of Genesis chapters 1-2 [ISBN: 978-981-94-7387-8] in 137 pages. This publication is a good defence of Biblical Creationism to counter the falsehood of the theory of Evolution. On 20 September 2026 this publication is launched. Distribution will be made in today’s Worship Service. Praise the Lord for His grace in enabling the beginning of this series of publication. Amen.
Note: Order of books published by the church can be made in the church website (www.blessedhope.sg) under Blessed Hope On-line Bookroom (https://blessedhopebookroom.pages.dev).
