Psalm 4:5-7 Offer The Sacrifices Of Righteousness

Psalm 4:5-7 (KJV) Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. 6 There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

The way of God is called the way of righteousness, according to His will in conformance with His Word. The believer walking in the way of God, walks in the narrow way that leads to life and not the broadway that leads to destruction.

The psalmist encourages God’s people to be willing to be obedient to God which often entails losing the benefits that this world offers. It is called the sacrifices of righteousness and it requires the believer to exercise faith, to walk therein.

It is the way of the LORD’s blessing. Though the world may mock and sneer at the believer walking in the narrow way, the psalmist pleads for the LORD to greatly magnify His presence wth His people by way of His countenance. There is gladness in such an offer that the believer receives from the LORD. Amen.
