Ephesians 5:18b-19 … be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making

The filling of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is His action of taking control of the believer’s life. His thoughts, His speech, His attitude, His conduct, His labours. 

Think of how disastrous it would be while driving, what would happen if the driver took his hands off the steering wheel for only 30 seconds. It shows the importance of the believer to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Through psalmist and hymns and spiritual songs, the heart is made tender to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit through the study and meditation of God’s Word and thus be yielded to God’s guidance. Amen.
