Proverbs 17:22 (KJV) A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Here Solomon shows us the strength of a merry heart. It is like a right prescription of medication that heals an ailment.

A sad countenance described here as a broken spirit, brings death and deadness. It harms the person from within.

Therefore, the cultivated of a merry heart, a heart that trust in the LORD, finds strength and solace in Him, experiences true joy. Let God’s people find the blessings of a merry heart. Amen.
