Colossians 3:23-24 Heartily As to the Lord

Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV) And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Let every endeavour be heartily done as to the Lord. The verb “do” means “to work”, let all our work be done for the glory of the Lord. It is a whole hearted devotion that is pleasing to the Lord – Psalm 119:10 (KJV) With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

A differentiating factor is the underlying motivation that the devotion is to the Lord and not unto men. How marvellous an encouragement to serve the Lord Christ.

There is reward that is promised by the Lord for His dear ones who walk with Him. Amen.
