Psalm 18:1 I Will Love Thee, O LORD

Psalm 18:1 (KJV) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

The psalmist extolled the LORD, renewing his love for the LORD. He identified the LORD as the Source of his strength. He loves the LORD because of the deliverance that the LORD had done for His sake on his behalf.

He further described how the LORD was a Source for strength for him in Psalm 18:2 (KJV) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

The LORD saved his very life from all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. Many calamities came his way but the LORD delivered him out of them all. He therefore reaffirmed his trust in the LORD. Amen.
