Matthew 5:6 They Shall Be Filled

Matthew 5:6 (KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

The Lord speaks of the satisfying of our spiritual hunger and thirst that comes when His people would feed upon His Words, come to Him with contrition of heart and follow His ways so that they can be counted righteousness in Him and pursue righteousness through Him. Such a spiritual state is blessed, multiples or myriad of blessings that He pronounces and bestows on these.

They shall be filled, their hunger and thirst will be satisfied, spiritually speaking as the Apostle Paul puts into perspective for God’s people in Romans 14:17 (KJV) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Our Lord puts in clearly in John 6:27 (KJV) Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. Amen.
