Isaiah 25:8-9 This is Our God; We Have Waited for Him

Isaiah 25:8-9 (KJV) He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

The blessing of follow the LORD is gladness and rejoicing. In Him is salvation. He saves His people to the uttermost so that the sting of death is overcome. He shall wipe away tears from all faces. The mourning shall turn to joy.

Death is the result of the curse of sin. Christ has defeated death and sin by His vicarious death on our behalf. All who wait upon Him, that is, all who trust in Him, and look to Him in faith for salvation, receives it.

God’s people confess the LORD as their God. He saves them not just from eternal death, but He saves them bodily but giving the a new resurrection body. Wonder promise at His coming again. Therefore, we wait for Him awaiting the time of great rejoicing and gladness for our change. Amen.
