Matthew 13:44 The Kingdom of Heaven Is Like Unto Treasure Hid in a Field

Matthew 13:44 (KJV)  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

The kingdom of heaven is precious like treasure hidden in a field. In the parable, the man sells all he has to buy the field so as to obtain the treasure. He did so with joy!

How could he be willing to part with all his possessions to possess the kingdom of heaven? Because he understood the value of it and was therefore willing to esteem it greatly to forfeit all that he has. Of course, buying the field was an investment that he felt was worth its weight in all of his possessions.

Here is given to us the importance, the vital value of eternal life as Jesus said in Matthew 10:39 (KJV)  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

He was willing to forsake all to find Christ, to put Him first, to esteem eternal life more than the comforts of this temporal life on earth. Therein is the wisdom for our consdieration. Amen.
