Jeremiah 33:8 Cleanse and Pardon

Jeremiah 33:8 (KJV)  And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

The LORD says He will cleanse and pardon His people – Jeremiah 33:7 (KJV)  And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

Through 70 years of captivity, the LORD allowed His people to be deported from the land. In the fullness of exile, Israel was pardoned by the LORD, they returned to the land. Israel transgressed against the Lord for not keeping the seventh-year Sabbath for the land. They neglected for 70 cycles of 7 years, so their captivity was a long 70 years.

The LORD chastisement was for a period according to their transgression, and then came Israel’s restoration. He does not forsake His people, rather He draws them to walk with Him anew again. Amen.
