John 14:27 Peace I Leave with You

John 14:27 (KJV)  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Our Lord Jesus is the true Giver of peace. This peace will truly comfort the troubled and fearful heart. He assured His disciples as He went that the time of His sufferings has come, and His crucifixion, and death will be followed by His resurrection and ascension to heaven. He has already told them that He will return to receive them in glory. He has gone to prepare for each their heavenly mansion.

John 14:1-4 (KJV)  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Jesus provided true consolation for the hearts of His disciples as He unfolded the redemption plan of God that He will enact shortly.

Today, we live by the same promise that Christ gave to His disciples as we await the consummation and believers being ushered to their heavenly mansion. Hallelujah! What a Saviour! May His people be strengthened as we wait upon His return. Amen.
