Job 5:19 Six Troubles: Ye in Seven

Job 5:19 (KJV)  He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

A depiction of life. Full of troubles in a fallen world. Yet full of deliverances when life is lived in the spirit with God’s guidance and under God’s care.

The psalmist depicts well such a life in Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)  A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Also in Psalm 23:1-6 (KJV)  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

A life of dependence upon the LORD. Amen.
