Psalm 27:13 Believed the Goodness of the LORD

Psalm 27:13 (KJV)  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

The psalmist sought the LORD with all his heart. The psalmist begins with the LORD and ends with the LORD. The LORD was the Alpha and Omega of his life.

Psalm 27:1 (KJV)  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:14 (KJV)  Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

He trusted the LORD, experiencing His goodness so evidently demonstrated before Him. It was unmistakably. Therefore, he testified, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”

What was the goodness of the LORD, salvation and deliverance from all adversaries of the LORD. To this, he extolled the LORD.

Psalm 27:4-5 (KJV)  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

In worship, he finds the LORD’s sufficiency for his soul and for his life. He was satisfied. therefore, he testified for our emulation. Amen.
