Isaiah 62:5-8 Covenant Faithfulness

Isaiah 62:5-8 (KJV)  For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:

The LORD covenanted with His people. It is a promise which He upholds. He shall surely make good all His promises. His people are indeed His delight as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so the LORD rejoices in His people.

He covenanted to protect His people. He ensures that they will be well-protected. He set watchmen to guard them, as He did over the city of Jerusalem. The city that He puts His Name. He is set to honour His Word to prosper the city as His witness on earth.

Enemies of His people will be dealt with so that there will be peace within the household of God. He shall prosper the labour of their hands and guard their increase so that they may enjoy the fruit of their labour. Amen.
