Colossians 1:9-13 To Pray for You

Colossians 1:9-13 (KJV)  For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

The Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Colosse. It was a new church that has been established and his prayer was that the church in Colosse would make spiritual progress.

His prayer was that the church would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. The will of God is the place of security and safety, the place of sanctification and service. That the believers might be encouraged to walk according to God’s will, having taken time to seek it and know it, thus bearing spiritual fruit.

His prayer is that God’s Spirit may empower the saints with spiritual strength to steadfast endurance bearing the fruit of patience and longsuffering and finding joy in the Lord. It is indeed blessed of God to walk in the light, having been delivered from darkness. Amen.
