Philippians 3:13-14 Reaching Forth

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The Apostle Paul understood that there is yet work unfinished that the Lord has for him and therefore he said, “I press toward the mark for the prize …” There is a reward that the Lord gives for all who serve Him.

He considered this service to be the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. A sacred work that the Lord has laid upon his heart to do. And he realized that he has not arrived yet in his work for the Lord and therefore perseveres despite hardships and setbacks.

Philippians 4:11-13 (KJV)  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Amen.
