John 17:6 Thou Gavest Me Out of This World

John 17:6 (KJV)  I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Chosen by the Father, purchased by the Son and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Our Lord’s prayer to the Father is that He has accomplished His earthly mission to proclaim that He is the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

These ones who come to trust in Jesus were also those who have kept the Word. They have obeyed the Word of God in their daily walk of life as a testimony of their faith. They have been rescued from the world, the system ruled by the evil one. Though they were in the world, they did not conform to the world but lived as strangers and pilgrims on this earth, waiting to be transported to a better home in heaven.

This is their testimony – Hebrews 11:13 (KJV)  These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Hebrews 11:14 (KJV)  For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

Hebrews 11:16 (KJV)  But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Our Lord Himself gave this amazing promise to comfort the hearts of His people – John 14:1-4 (KJV)  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Amen.
